Vidya Pratishthan's Vinodkumar Gujar Bal Vikas Mandir recently celebrated its annual milestone with the grand **Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony** held in the school assembly hall. The event serves as a platform to acknowledge, appreciate, and reward the outstanding performances of our students in academics, sports, and co-curricular spheres throughout the academic year.
The ceremony commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, Dr. Sushma Deshmukh, a distinguished educationist, accompanied by our Principal, Mr. Asish Ghosh, and members of the School Managing Committee. The choir group presented a melodious welcome song, setting an auspicious tone for the evening.
"Excellence is not an act, but a habit. Today, we celebrate the habits of hard work, perseverance, and dedication that our students have shown. Every prize awarded today represents hours of quiet effort." — Mr. Asish Ghosh, Principal
Academic Excellence Recognitions
The core highlight of the event was the distribution of academic awards. Toppers from Grade I to X were felicitated with trophies and certificates of merit. Special commendations were awarded to students who achieved 100% pass marks and outstanding percentages in the S.S.C.E. and I.C.S.E. Board Examinations. Parents of the awardees watched with pride as their children took the stage to receive honors.
Co-Curricular & Sports Trophies
Beyond academics, the school recognizes holistic growth. Awards were presented for outstanding achievements in the school band (both Brass and Pipe/Drum bands), science exhibitions, debate, and creative arts. The sports segment saw the distribution of medals for athletics, basketball, handball, and chess. The climax of the sports award ceremony was the announcement of the **Best Sports Person of the Year**, which was awarded to Master Rahul Shinde of Grade X for his exceptional contribution to the school handball team.
Overall House Championship
A thrilling moment for the students was the declaration of the overall House Championship Trophy. Throughout the year, the three houses—**Shivneri, Raigad, and Purandhar**—competed in various academic, cultural, and athletic events. After a neck-and-neck race, **Shivneri House (Blue House)** emerged as the Overall Champions for the Academic Year 2024-25, amid thunderous applause and cheers.
